What has changed in the rules of participation

The Canton Fair, held in Guangzhou and traditionally consisting of three stages, in 2026 updated the admission system and the rules for issuing passes. The changes affected both visitors and accompanying persons, including interpreters.

The main trend of this year - strengthening control, digitalization of processes and pre-scheduling of all visits.

General system of passes and access to the exhibition

The system of entrance to the exhibition has become more formalized and divided into categories of participants.

For foreign visitors, participation remains free of charge, with the basic registration procedure remaining unchanged.

There is a fee for Chinese participants. At the moment, the final cost is still being clarified, but the range from 300 to 500 yuan is being discussed. The question remains whether this amount will be valid for one day or for several days of visit.

Thus, we can talk about the transition to a more differentiated system of admission depending on the status of the participant.

Passage of interpreters and accompanying persons

One of the key changes concerns the registration of interpreters and assistants.

Now the participant can issue a Chinese interpreter as an official accompanying person. In this case, the interpreter gets the opportunity to enter the exhibition without additional payment.

However, there are strict control restrictions:

The interpreter is obliged to enter and leave the exhibition territory strictly at the same time as the participant to whom he is attached. Independent presence at the exhibition without escort is prohibited.

The enforcement of this rule has become significantly tighter than in previous years, including entry and exit checks.

The cost of registration of the translator

According to the updated data, the cost of participation of the translator consists of two parts:

  • 300 yuan for one day of participation
  • 50 yuan for passing the pass

The total cost is:

  • 1 day - 350 yuan
  • 2 days - 650 yuan
  • 3 days - 950 yuan

This model makes the cost of participation linear and tied to the number of days of stay at the exhibition.

Linking passes to exhibition phases

The Canton Fair is traditionally held in three stages, and now this is directly reflected in the accreditation system.

The pass is issued separately for each phase of the exhibition. This means that:

  • Pass received for the first phase does not apply to subsequent
  • Separate registration is required for each phase
  • Registration is a prerequisite for participation

This change requires more precise travel planning and phasing out visits.

Mandatory online pre-registration

Another important innovation - Complete transition to online applications.

Registration of interpreters and accompanying persons is possible only in advance:

  • The application must be submitted at least 2 days before the visit.
  • Placement is no longer allowed
  • It is impossible to get to the exhibition as an accompanying person without prior approval.

This rule effectively eliminates spontaneous participation and requires rigorous planning.

The 2026 Canton Expo is becoming more regulated and structured. The main changes are aimed at:

  • strengthening access control
  • formalization of the status of interpreters and accompanying
  • Digitalization and pre-registration of all applications
  • linking participation to specific phases of the exhibition

As a result, participation in the exhibition requires earlier preparation and accurate planning of all logistics and organizational processes.
