Charity Fund "Ark": when hope becomes a matter of life
“Let us help you to get back on your feet even during the flood.” This motto of the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Families with Children with Cerebral Palsy “Ark” reflects not just the direction of the organization. This is the life philosophy of people who once faced a difficult ordeal and decided to turn their own pain into a source of help for hundreds of other families.
A story born of love and struggle
The history of the KAVCHEG Foundation did not begin with the offices of officials or business projects. It began on November 27, 2002 – the birthday of the boy Nikita, the son of the future president of the foundation Irina Valentinovna Stepantsova.
Due to severe complications during childbirth, the child received hypoxia of the brain, which subsequently led to the diagnosis of cerebral palsy. For the family began a long journey of struggle for the health of the child – a path familiar to thousands of parents of special children.
Over the years, dozens of medical centers and rehabilitation institutions of Russia, Ukraine and China have been searched. The family turned to the best specialists, underwent numerous courses of treatment, worked with massage therapists and physical therapy instructors. However, along with hope came an understanding of another harsh reality – quality rehabilitation requires huge financial costs, and to get the necessary assistance from government agencies is not always possible.
It was then that the idea that later became the basis of the future fund emerged: Parents of special children should unite and help each other, because the rescue of drowning children. - drowning.
From a personal tragedy - community mission
Every year, the family circle was increasingly made up of parents who faced the same problems. Almost everyone asked the same questions:
- Where to find effective treatment?
- How to pay for expensive rehabilitation?
- Who can help legally and informationally?
- How not to be alone with your trouble?
Gradually came the realization of a simple but important truth: Salvation and support should become a common cause of families, society and all concerned people..
Thus, the idea of creating a charitable foundation was born, which could not only help specific children, but also realize a much larger dream.
The birth of the Ark Foundation
The implementation of such a large-scale project required a serious organizational and financial base. Therefore, it was decided to create a charitable foundation.
The work began in 2012 already 2013 have been officially registered:
- Charity Fund to help families with children diagnosed with cerebral palsy "Ark";
- Autonomous non-profit organization "Rehabilitation and health center "Ark"".
So the dream of a few families became a full-fledged public organization.
Main objective - own rehabilitation center
Today, the main goal of the fund is the creation of a modern rehabilitation and health center in the ecologically clean mountainous area of the Republic of Khakassia.
The future center should combine:
- medical rehabilitation;
- physical therapy;
- physical therapy;
- hippotherapy;
- sanatorium and resort treatment;
- psychological support;
- Social adaptation of children and parents.
The unique combination of natural factors of Khakassia - mountain air, healing lakes, herbs and a favorable climate - can become a powerful addition to traditional methods of rehabilitation.
What the Fund is Helping Today
Despite the scale of the main goal, the KAVCHEG Foundation daily solves the specific tasks of families raising children with cerebral palsy.
Uniting parents and caring people
The Foundation creates a community of people who understand the problems of special families and are ready to support each other not only financially, but also morally. For this purpose, the Public Organization “Family Club “Siberian Angels” was created, uniting 60 families with children with cerebral palsy.
Advisory assistance
Parents receive information about:
- modern methods of rehabilitation;
- specialized medical institutions;
- State support programs;
- social benefits and opportunities.
Legal support
The Foundation’s specialists help families navigate complex legal issues related to disability registration, social benefits and protection of children’s rights.
Assistance in paying for rehabilitation
One of the most important tasks of the fund is to find funds to finance the treatment and rehabilitation of children in need of expensive medical care.
Good deeds begin next to each other.
Over the years, the foundation has managed to unite around itself a large number of volunteers, entrepreneurs, representatives of government agencies and simply caring people.
Joint efforts have resulted in:
- Celebrate New Year holidays for special children;
- Collect and distribute humanitarian aid;
- provide families with means of rehabilitation;
- Support social adaptation of children with disabilities.
Special attention is paid to ensuring that children do not remain isolated from society, can communicate, develop, find friends and believe in their own strength.
When the impossible becomes possible
There are many stories in the Foundation’s activities that confirm that even the most complex diagnoses should not become a verdict.
Among the wards of the fund there are young people with cerebral palsy who were able to get a profession, master work through the Internet, become independent and prove to others that human capabilities are much broader than any restrictions.
It is for the sake of such stories that the daily work of the foundation continues. And what is very important: when a child reaches adulthood and passes into adulthood, for the Ark, he is still a child.
It is no coincidence that the foundation has a motto: "The ark does not abandon its own."
Charity as a Community Responsibility
The Ark Fund is not just a public organization. This is an example of how personal tragedy can become a source of good that can change the lives of many people.
Behind each project of the foundation are parents who did not accept the circumstances. People who believe that even in the most difficult situations, you can find a way out if you work together.
Today, the Ark continues its journey, uniting families, volunteers, doctors, entrepreneurs and everyone who believes that helping children is a common responsibility of society.
And perhaps it is thanks to such people that a unique rehabilitation center will really appear in the mountains of Khakassia, which will become a real ark of hope for thousands of families from all over Russia.
